Best in Show

4 out of 5

Where have all dark comedies go? After all, there is almost nothing original in cinema today, at least in Hollywood cinema. Yes, Best in Show is an old collection (2000), but the story is everlastingly refreshing. It is a mockumentary about 5 couples who send their dogs competing in the prestigious Mayflower Kennel Club Award. Each of them comes from very different background, but they have one thing in common: they love their dogs to death. These pooches are pampered and guarded as if they are the most precious thing on earth. All for winning the title of best in show. The dialogues are funny as well as snappy and each character is tacky in his/her own way, you’ll fall in love with them.
